Snowy Sunday #01
Author : martymankins - November 16, 2008What’s Snowy Sunday?
Starting somewhere in November, the weather starts to get really cold here in Utah [although a few sunny days in the mid 50's make their rare occurrence]… cold enough to snow, especially in the higher altitudes. Then by mid to late December, snowfall finds its place on a regular schedule in the Salt Lake valley. Since this kind of weather is not very good for riding a small two-wheeled vehicle on icy roads, I’ve decided to put Scooter Sunday on hiatus for the winter, yet still finding an avenue for making videos.
Snowy Sunday seems an appropriate name as each episode will revolve around some form of winter activity involving the powdery white stuff [no, not that stuff]. Plus this gives me a chance to not get out of practice once Scooter Sunday makes it’s triumphant return in the spring.
So here you go… the first video episode of Snowy Sunday. Watch and comment.

I loved it!
My favorite part was the snowman, and the Suicidal Tendencies playing. Oh nice!
We always went “skeeching” in the winter. You basically put a bungee cord on the bumper of a car and someone drives and you slide all over the place.
Of course, I was like, 15 when I did that.

“Snowy Sunday” doesn’t quite have the ring to it that “Scooter Sunday” does, but I’ll be open to new things.

sybil - Thanks. Skeeching… we always called it “hooky bobbing”, where you hang onto the tailgate of a truck and slide on the road. I was in my 20’s the first time I did that.
kapgar - Yeah, Scooter Sunday had a nice flow to it. Hang in there with me and this will find it’s groove, too.

I haven’t heard Suicidal Tendencies in a very long time. Awesome music choice.
I loved this! Can’t wait to see more!

YEAH! KILL THAT STUPID SNOWMAN!

tori - When watching my daughter tromp in the snow like that, the lyrics from that Suicidal Tendencies song came into my head. Thanks for the props. I’ll do my best to entertain in future episodes.
brandon - Oh yeah… I think we’ll make a proper snowman in a future episode.

We had snowy Monday here today. There was just enough to cover rooftops — the inch they’d predicted didn’t materialize.
It’s too soon for snow here. (In my opinion.)

Time for utter blaspheme….I think I like Snowy Sunday better than Scooter Sunday! This was so fun.

Oh I love it! Snow you say? What’s that then?

delmer - As much as I’m looking forward to snow, for obvious reasons, I’m also ok with it being nice weather for a bit longer.
hilly - WOW! And on the first episode, too. Can’t wait to read your comments in future episodes.
kevin - LOL… true that. See, if I lived in Phoenix, Scooter Sunday would still be viable.

I love your little snowman. He is small, but happy!
Ha! You crack me up Marty. I think we would get along really well in real life

kilax - Thank you. And thanks for the kind words. I think we would, too.

I am not so sure about that, I do know Marty in real life and I think he’s a complete jerk….

kris - Dammit! The downfall of having people I know in real life comment on my blog LMAO

Ok, that was really funny! Thanks for sharing Marty. Kris is just jealous because he can’t build a snowman too. And he is not nearly as cool… LOL!

I like it, it was fun! And luckily you have a cute co-star.

jaimecherie - Well, that snowman was pretty weak… but it was just the “first snowman” Others will be more worthy of their name.
liebekd - Thanks, Karen. And yes, Tiff is a cute co-star (and enegetic, too)
