Snowy Sunday #12
|So now that I’ve given away a bunch of prizes, it’s time to get back to what the people want – a new episode of Snowy Sunday.

Yes, you read that right. This week’s episode was successfully uploaded to YouTube. It helps that I didn’t use a song from a WMG artist.
Please Let It Snow
As you will see from this week’s episode, there’s not much snow left around here. I really, really, really want it to snow. And not just because I need to film. The inversion here in the Salt Lake valley really sucks. I wake up each morning with breathing issues [nothing serious, just annoying and bothersome] and we need a couple of really good storms to clear out this ugly air. If the weather predictions are right, we should get some this week, which will help me in many ways, including trying to finish filming for a couple of future Snowy Sunday episodes. Join Mr. Penguin above and send in the good vibes.
Well, I get the first comment, I like being first! Anyway, perfect music for your new Snowy Sunday. I went skiing today and there was plenty of snow there!!! Perhaps you could drive a bit further to do you filming? Just a thought.
*sings* Let it snow, let it snow, let it snoooowwww!
mark n – Being first is special. Snow in the mountains you say? I may have to consider that for next week’s episode if we don’t get any snow here in the valley.
catherine – Yes… sing it, girl. Of course, as Mark says above, there was snow up at the ski resorts, which may be a precursor for next week’s episode.
You have captured what I dislike most about snow in Salt Lake City.
Having never lived where it regularly snows, I was really struck when you mentioned that the old snow would just stay like that until it snowed again. Of course, that shouldn’t be surprising, but heck, it’s 11:00 PM in Austin and it’s 66° right now.
Nice White Stripes….
Anyway we have snow at our house still… In case you need a filming location….
I love how snow looks until it looks like that. Ours is melting now too and looks the same, all dirty and gross. Yuck! I am not a huge fan of snow in the first place, but I would like a bit more to cover this up now! I think our temp is supposed to be around 60 tomorrow though. Crazy!
I LOVE The White Stripes!
And yes – our snow looks like that now, too. The worst? At the supermarket – there is this HUGE pile of positively black snow in a parking spot – it is NASTY.
I have to admit – I am enjoying our current 60 degree weather. But I’d be thrilled for another snow day or two before spring comes along!
xisor – It’s such an eyesore to see that. Regular snowfall would keep it away.
ren – Yeah, even though we get some warmer temps, that old snow doesn’t melt very fast. Although today’s rain cleared some of that ugly crap out of the way. 66 in February. If that’s what it was here, I’d be having a Scooter Sunday.
breakaway9 – I thought you’d like the White Stripes song. Thank Tiffany for that… she’s the one who found it for me. And thanks for the snow offer. I may be up there this week to get some footage.
tori – 60 is crazy.. especially for February, which is usually a very snowy month in most cold weather cities.
sybil law – Another White Stripes fan. That one scene in the video where I show that black snow is in the Office Depot parking lot across from my work. It’s so bad.
I’ll put on a penguin suit and do a little happy dance for you if you want. Really. That will bring the snow.
😉
It’s been a while so I forgot how yucky old dirty snow can be. Yuck.
The only thing worse than dirty snow is the puddles of murky standing water that are left when it all melts. Takes forever for the ground to thaw and absorb it.
It looks like that around here too – bloody depressing isn’t it?
The West of England got fresh snow but I think we used up our quota for the next 10 years. I want fresh snow too!!!!
hilly – Can you do that for me? If so, you need to film it and post it in a new post out on your blog. I can’t wait to see that.
kevin – Yeah. It will be gone soon (hoping)
kapgar – oh yeah.. those are even worse because once you step in them, the grime hangs onto each opening in the bottom of your shoes. At least the dirty snow mounds can be avoided.
penelope – Depressing indeed. Fresh snow is on it’s way here.
Great video (as usual). You introduce me to some music I’ve not heard before. Often.
Ship us some snow, wouldja?
Our snow is mostly gone and I couldn’t be happier. The bit we have left is of the dirty variety. It just looks sad.
whall – Why thank you. If I could ship this stuff down there, I would. Oh.. you mean the good looking snow. Uh… sorry.
delmer – Sad snow is never good.
It’s is frickin’ 75 degrees here. My kids wore shorts to school today. You folks should be thankful you got the snow you have, us kids in Atlanta don’t have ANY. If you would like to sponsor a child in Atlanta for just $.60 a day….maybe someday, children all over the world will have snow…
beth – 75?? sheesh… that’s too warm for anywhere north of Phoenix in February. Although, this is Hotlanta we are talking about… so I’m not surprised. And $.60 cents a day is worth it so those kids can experience what winter is like.
