Music Monday: NINs Day

With today being Music Monday. And the 9th day of the 9th month, how can I not celebrate NIN Day.
Blogger and fellow music fan Kapgar, came up with the hashtag #NINsday to celebrate the music of Nine Inch Nails on the 9th day of each month.
And while I just reviewed the new NIN album in last week’s Music Monday, I never even hesitated to cover more NIN so soon after.
Live
Opening with “Copy Of A” at Lollapalooza 2013
With the return of new NIN music is the return of the live band, who are on tour and have been playing festival dates and a few other selected shows. Nothing quite like the experience of a live NIN concert. I’ve seen them live before and would love to see them live on this tour, but no stops here locally. So without the means of unlimited time and money, I have to resort to the next best thing… online video. Like the Lollapalooza 2013 performance above of the new song “Copy Of A”, which has the band coming out on stage a la Talking Heads “Stop Making Sense” style.

And what better way to experience that online concert footage with a site that’s dedicated to making some of the best downloads. Reflecting In The Chrome is a great archive of recent and past NIN concerts, including the above entire Lollapalooza 2013 NIN set. And while YouTube still has the concert up, there’s no telling when they might pull it down. Best to have a local copy of your favorite band performing live.
If you have a chance to see NIN live on this tour, do so. If not, you might just as well enjoy the captured video performance right from your computer desk chair in the comfort of your home or office.
Great choice of first live song. I loved that homage to Talking Heads in the opening song. When I watched the live stream a few weeks back I remember thinking this new song is bloody great! To this day, Copy Of A far and away the most played track from the new album. One of my favorite songs by NIN from any album actually.
Thank you. The Talking Heads homage was incredible, to say the least. Trent found a great song to start off the new album with.
