30 Years Of The Hurting
|
30 Years Ago Today…
Wow. 30 years is a long time for many things, especially a classic album that started a musical revolution.
Tears For Fears – Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith – a musical duo that took the 80’s by storm with their mixed sounds of upbeat, gloom and lyrical genius.
And while “Songs From The Big Chair” was their major breakout, it was 30 years ago today that the album “The Hurting” was released, which began their integration as modern music icons into the ears and eyes of fans worldwide.
30 Year Celebration
@kevin_spencer with the recent coy tweets from @curtsmith I would guess there is a @tearsforfears event coming up this year

And as we’ve seen the teasing tweets from Curt Smith in the last few weeks, today’s relaunch of TearsForFears.com shyly confirmed that something big is happening this year.
Thanks for an amazing 30 years. This year is going to be a big one. Get Ready!

Oh noes… another trip to SLC, perhaps?
I would be so very happy if TFF came to SLC. They’ve not been here in years (i’ve seen them live twice in the 90’s)
The Hurting is an amazing album. I first heard Mad World at a friends house as a wee nipper and was hooked from that point on. To this day I still play it regularly. Pale Shelter is one of my favorite songs of all time.
If they do tour this year and play the whole album I’m so there. So very there.
This is a live even that I hope happens for all of us Hurting and TFF fans. It’s been too long since I’ve seen them live.
Also, I admit to being giddy about getting a reply from Curt Smith.
