Snowy Sunday #15
|*sniff* We barely got to know him.
Snowy Sunday Ep. 015 from Marty Mankins on Vimeo.
YouTube Users – No video upload this week. Because I used a WMG artist [Collective Soul], they stripped the audio out. They are getting good at this, as it was only minutes after it was uploaded that I got the “Content Matched” message. I promptly deleted the video. I apologize for this inconvenience.
No Snowy Sunday for Two Weeks
Well, at least not from me. I leave on Friday for Hawaii. But I’m not leaving you post-less while I’m gone. I have lined up some great guest bloggers who will be providing you with some good, clean, wholesome entertainment sinfully and carnally-pleasing blog posts. Here’s the line up:
- March 8th – Karl from Secondhand Tryptophan
- March 9th [week of] – Catherine from Seventh Notebook
- March 15th – Hilly from Snackie’s World
Plus, while I’m in Hawaii, I plan on doing a couple of short posts with some photos and a quick blurb telling you all what a great time I’m having. Yes, I’m nice like that.
See you later on this week.
That little guy was so cute! He reminded me of Mr. Bill 🙂 What a great job you did, that was totally charming and awesome and I loved it. You have a GIFT for picking the right music for these things. I always end up thinking something like, nothing would have fit so well, it was pitch perfect. wtg, Marty!
(Ain’t it fun to play with Play-Doh?! I wonder if you were inspired by Kevin?)
You asshole. It’s too early in the morning to be on the verge of tears… and over clay, to boot! 😉
We had a snowy Sunday here. And we’re getting a bit today.
This means we’ve had snow in 6 of the last 12 months. Just flurries in October and March (so far)… but that’s not the point. This isn’t supposed to happen in Ohio.
That made me cry! 🙁
catherine – Why thank you for those kind words. And as much as I tried not to use a WMG artist, that Collective Soul song just fit better than the other 3 I was going to use (one of which was America’s “Tin Man”). Kevin’s blog post only cemented my love of Play-Doh. It’s one of the few toys that still ok to use as an adult, at least IMO.
kapgar – That’s pompous asshole, sir… 😉 Didn’t mean to incite tears over clay. It’s just the way the snowman melts.
delmer – I really did want snow. And not just for filming. It’s been in the mid 50’s most of last week, but then it drops to under 20 at night. Makes for trying to have consistent weather pretty difficult.
sybil law – Awwww. He’ll be back next winter.
I loved it, I’d say it was a perfect ending, however I don’t think the snowman would agree.
Atlanta got snow yesterday, unfortunately for me I was 20 miles too far north. We were literally on the very frickin’ edge of the snow. Total rip off.
Have a wonderful trip!
Cath… Marty was making his amazing Play-Doh creations long before I get my grubby paws on some the other week 😉
Marty… amazing as always. Loved the snowman melting scene. How long does it take you to make these vids? I always imagine stop-motion animators having the patience of saints 😉
Poor little snowman! Awesome video!
And have a great time in Hawaii. I am jealous for sure!
beth – Thanks, Beth. Nope, the snowman would not agree, but he’ll be back in some form or another next winter. Sorry your home missed the snow.
kevin – Thank you, sir. Time wise, I spent about 3 hours of filming yesterday, plus another 3 or so putting it all together in Final Cut Express 4 (which is so much easier to do animation in, compared to iMovie 06). Some videos take about 4 hours from filming to rendering the final video (not including upload time to Vimeo). If I get it done on Saturday, then upload and conversion times for Vimeo are minutes instead of hours. Last nights Vimeo conversion wait time was 120 mins. If I pay the $60/yr, I can get faster convert times. And of course, YouTube stripped out the audio, so that was no time wasted.
tori – Thanks for the props. And for the well wishes on Hawaii. I’m sure I’ll have a great time.
Poor snowman! I bet he’ll make a comeback with some random March snowstorm.
Poor snowman! Wahhhhh!
I am still horribly jealous of your vacation but even so, have a wonderful time!! :o)
brandon – That may be possible. There is still 2 more Snowy Sunday episodes left for this season. 😉
penelope – Thank you. I’m so looking forward to it.
Dude, you are awesome. You help make it so that people don’t enter into the realm of making video series like me, you and Avitable.
whall – Thanks for the compliment, Wayne.
Awww! I love his little moving lips!
This reminds me of a story – each year, my grandma builds a snowman and takes photos of him while he melts. It’s always so fun to look at the photos.
Have a great time in Hawaii!
kilax – Thank you. The moving lips were a lot smoother after I got to do a few takes. The photos while it melts is a great idea. And I will have a good time there. Who doesn’t have a good time in Hawaii?
