tintfa 2017
First update for 2017

Back about four and a half months ago, I started TINTFA back up after a long ass absence. It’s my acronym for me trying to get things done in my life.


Since I revived TINTFA for 2017, I thought I would provide an update on any progress that I’ve made this year. First up is exercise and maintaining my weight. In April, I started going back to the gym 3 times a week. While these 3 weeks, I’ve not been, I do plan to get going again this week. As for weight, I’ve been between 174.5 lbs to 176.5 lbs. I only weight myself about once every 10 days and it’s been in that 2 lb range since the first of the year. I’d like to get below 170 lbs and stay there like I did a couple years ago and that’s a goal I have for this year.

I have been reading more. Haven’t finished as many books as I would have liked to for being an almost daily reader since the beginning of April, but I am making more progress than I have in the last 3 years. Hoping to finish at least 6 books before the end of June.

30 Day Challenge

That brings us to a new thing I am trying. 30 Day Challenge. The goal is obviously to do a task or project or to do item for each day for 30 days. I have several items on my list:

  • Mindfulness
  • Reading
  • Blogging

I am using a new app called Trello to keep track of my progress. I’m not beating myself up if I don’t make this goal all 30 days. I found that when I berated myself for not making previous goals, it did the opposite of motivating me. So each month, I make better efforts to reach as many things I can do for the 30 day challenge. That sounds counterproductive to some of you. I get that. But it’s something new I am trying.
