Snowy Sunday #06 25

Once again, thanks to the holiday season being extra, extra busy, this one is getting posted later than I wanted. But hey, that’s how it is being the last weekend before Christmas. Enjoy this all new episode filled with snow and more snow and yet, even more snow.

Happy Hanukkah

Today is the first day of Hanukkah. To be perfectly honest, I don’t know much about this holiday, other than what friends and co-workers have shared with me over the years. Admittedly, eight days of gifts would have been pretty cool as a kid [that is if I grew up jewish].

Promises, Promises

As I make my best attempts to get caught up in my posting and reading on all of the online social gathering spots, I’m anxious to see what kind of dent I can make in everything that I wanted to do this year. Sometime before December 31st, I will do a year-end post that outlines my annual accomplishments [as well as those items that get to be carried over into 2009].

Before then, I’ll still have one more new episode of Snowy Sunday for 2008 and at least a couple of other blog posts. Until next time, happy holidays, have fun and be safe.

Wow, look at all that SNOW. I know it’s a pain, but it just looks like a lot of fun to me, inviting! I wanna sled and throw snowballs at stuff and take a stick and draw cool little cartoons in it. I loved wrecking the crunchy new fallen snow when i was a kid. Good times 😀

As a really bad Jew who should not be allowed to “represent,” Chanukah is the Festival of Lights. Clears everything up, now, doesn’t it?!?

I think I’m with Catherine. Probably a total pain in the arse to have to shovel that white stuff. But for those of us that never see any, it sure does look like fun. And Happy Holidays to you too sir.

winter – Thanks, Winter. And right back at cha… stay dry and warm throughout the holidays.

catherine – so nice to have you back on the blogs. Even though there is lots of snow, it’s fun still. Making these videos this year has me appreciating the snow more (and with a lot less bitching)

nilsa – Festival of Lights… now, see… I celebrated it without even knowing it.

kevin – The pain is in the back, which means I really need to get my snowblower working. Hope your holidays are great there in the warmer temps of AZ.

Ok you can come shovel my snow any time you like! Of course, it’s not as easy here as whooshing it off the deck. Still, good times, right? No? Hrmph.

Seriously, though, I’m glad we get snow this year. No matter how ridiculous the people here are when trying to drive in it.

tori – I’m sure I will be sick of it soon, too. Thanks for the props on the video. Somehow, every week, it comes out great.

catscratch – Welcome to the blog. Sometimes no snow is a good thing.

TSM – Good times, so long as my back holds out. Snow is fun, at least to have around during the holidays. Of course, the drivers can be a pain the ass.

Great video. I came here reading around after mostly completing my latest DITL and waiting for some processing, sitting here getting a little jealous of the snow. And then saw that the Bee Gees were making guest appearances in BOTH of our videos. And a little snow.

are you sure you’re not stalking me or something? 🙂

  • Faiqa

That was awesome!! I love the Bee Gees. And, I also love living vicariously through someone else’s experience with snow. (We’re not so much with the snow here in FL).

whall – 😉 that was pretty wild, having both the same song and snow in our videos. Not stalking, but I’ve always liked the DITL. Looking forward to seeing part 2 of the MITL.

faiqa – Thank you. And yes, there’s not much snow in Florida… so feel free to vicariously come by each week for a bit of snow (actually a lot of snow)

blondeblogger – You would think, but ask each of us who we voted for and you’ll for sure know we are two separate people… 😉

Rain sucks… it’s too wet, too quick. The snow is fun, so long as it stays nice, white and powdery.

blondeblogger – A ruse.. yes, that’s it. Now ask me who my favorite 70’s rock duo is and you’ll know for sure we are two separate people… 😉

So I’m a little late to the game on this one, but Vimeo hasn’t been playing nice with me lately. Stuff just ain’t loading. So I’ll be catching up on a bunch of your videos right now. And, this one is hilarious. I need to get some iMovie tips from you starting with, “how to use it.” 😉

  • martymankins Post author

kapgar – Thank you… this one turned out good. As for learning iMovie, there are a couple of books by Jim Heid that cover the whole iLife suite. Check out http://www.macilife.com/imovie/index.html and click on the first link under “Reference” He has provided the entire chapter for iMovie 06 HD on PDF as a free download. It helped me get started on it and get a good start on using iMovie. iMovie 08 is an entirely different story, though. 🙁

sj – I love Rhode Island and have been there before… nice place. Nice to know that decks in Utah have decks similar to those in Rhode Island.
