Music Monday: 2024 Concerts Catch Up
|
Remaining US tour has been cancelled – including the Utah show
Let me catch you up on my 2024 concerts I’ve been to.
But first, Jane’s Addiction has cancelled all remaining 2024 US dates. 15 of them.
Nothing’s Shocking
At the Boston show on Friday September 13, during the song “Ocean Size” Perry Farrell ended up losing it, yelling at the crowd and then going over to body clock Dave Navarro. Watch the YouTube video above.
The show stopped at that point. And then this morning the rest of the tour got cancelled. I got to see the band in Phoenix last month and I am so glad I did. Do I think they are done? Who knows. They have been done so many times since 1993. But at this stage of the game and with everyone being older – Perry is 65 – we shall see. All depends on Perry getting better and if the other 3 want to keep it going.

Concerts I Wanted To Go To
There of course were shows I wanted to attend. All of them I would have had to travel to.
- Pearl Jam – Wrigley Field Nights 1 and 2 – August 29 and 31, 2024
- Stone Temple Pilots – Phoenix, AZ – August 19, 2024
- Sammy Hagar Best Of All Worlds – any date that was close enough
- Foo Fighters – Denver CO – August 3, 2024
The main reason for not going? Time and money. Pearl Jam was at the top of my list. I first was looking at both nights in Los Angeles in May. Didn’t work. Then hearing the buzz about the Wrigley field shows. I did the simple math which included tickets, hotel, plane fare, Uber rides, food, etc. It was around $2600. I did the Jane’s Addiction show in Phoenix for under $400 for everything. Foo Fighters was going to be around $1200 which the ticket cost of $40 including fees was the cheapest part. But that was mostly time that prevented that one from happening.
So I have had to rely on YouTube footage for those shows to “experience” the live music.
Feel free to comment away on any of these shows I’ve been to.
You’ve been to more concerts this year than I’ve been too cumulatively since 1998. Wow!
Wait so if the Foo tix were only $40, what constitutes the remaining $1,160?
Oh wow! Since 1998…
Remaining: $500 airfare, $300 hotel, $100 Uber, $260 food/drinks. If I would have planned better, I could have shaved off about $200 for both airfare and hotel.
Wow, your concerts in 2024 list has more shows than I’ve been to in the last 10 years and then some. Seeing as that number is zero. I often see concerts and think “oh that would be good”, but real life and changing life priorities happen. Good heavens, what _was_ the last concert I went to? Skinny Puppy 2011 perhaps?
Oh wow. Yeah, you know how much I love the live concert experience. I get the life priorities happening.
