Music Monday: X96 Big Ass Show
|
Let the Big Ass Show begin
This past weekend, local radio station X96 held their (mostly) annual Big Ass Show [also known as BaSH for those in the local media that hate to use the word “Ass”] with a line up of many bands that the kids love, including my daughter.[who I hung out with at this show]
As it turns out, I like some of these bands, too.
Grouplove playing to a large group
I’m not much of a fan of bands like Anberlin or Switchfoot, but I really like this Grouplove band, who played a rather fun set. Most of the bands were limited to 30 minute sets, but used the time well.

Airborne Toxic Event, who I just saw this past summer, was able to draw the crowd into an sing-a-long with their music. Love this band and their sound.

Neon Trees, a native Utah band, is big… really big. They are currently on tour with Duran Duran, but managed to take a day to play for the Big Ass crowd. With only one album under their belt, the set time of 40 minutes was perfect.
Getting ready to take the stage
And then it was the final act of the day, Panic! At The Disco, who were missing their lead singer, Brenden Urie. But thanks to many other voices who stepped into the lead vocal role, the show went off great and was actually very cool to see.
The crowd stuck around for Panic! At The Disco
A great 7 hours of music. The only negative? It was cold… barely 50 degrees, which is damn cold for being early fall here in Utah. But that didn’t stop the crowd from enjoying the day.
Looks fun! Why was the singer for Panic! missing? Kinda weird!
He had malaria from a recent trip he did in Africa.
Excellent photos, looks like a fun day.
Thank you, sir. A good time for $10 tickets.
