Scooter Sunday #8
|
Today’s Scooter Sunday is brought to you by: Golf, BBQ Hamburger and Mojitos.
This one’s being posted way late, as I had a very busy weekend, between a project at work, golf, planning for a BBQ, yard work, etc… etc… etc… But as they say, better late then never.
“Would someone shut off this rain and ride me… please?”
As I normally complain about the weather, this last week gave me enough reasons. It rained for four days straight and didn’t let up until mid-morning on Saturday. My lonely scooter sat in the shed far too long. Thank goodness Sunday was nicer, which meant it was time for a ride. I rode past the Murray Golf Course, which was packed, then down through a few side streets and back up to my house. Not a very long ride, as it was only in the high 60’s. It’s supposed to be in the mid 80’s this next weekend, so I will definitely plan for a much longer ride.
I Hate the Dentist
On top of the endless rain, I had a dentist appointment to get two crowns. Since my earliest memories, I have never liked the dentist. I don’t think I’m alone in this, but you would think 40 years later, I would get better at dealing with the visits… I admit I’m a big pussy when it comes to the dentist. And this visit was no exception. These were my first two crowns, so I was naturally more nervous than I usually get. It’s not so much the pain that bothers me, but having to sit in the chair with my mouth open for over two hours while my teeth get drilled into.
And I get to go back in three weeks to get my permanent crowns (these are just the temporary ones). Yeah for me.
Golf
A good friend of mine loves to golf. When he lived in Utah, we golfed a lot. He now lives in Florida, but is here visiting for the next couple of weeks. Which means I’m playing a lot of golf. We went twice this weekend. I didn’t do as well as I wanted to (my game was going well, but fell apart on the last hole both games), but I still enjoyed myself, as evidenced by the two pictures below. Yes, that’s me smoking on the last picture, but it’s just a Prime Time cherry flavored cigar [I quit smoking cigarettes over five years ago, but have the occasional Prime Time]

Smokin’
And that’s all he wrote
That’s all I’ve got for now, since it’s way past Sunday (actually mid-Monday when this was posted).
Wow.. i wish you had been showing off that crown at the BBQ last night…. LOL…. BTW sorry about the door also… YIKES….
kris – I kept offering you some of my “Crown” but you wanted mojitos instead… LOL. And as for the screen door on the back, a lot of people have run into it. I’ll have to put it back on tonight.
Blimey! Get a shave next time you take a close up shot of your teeth would you? I wasn’t sure what that picture was supposed to be at first! ;o)
(Ha! Loving that the ad below this is for “Vampire Fangs”!!)
penelope – Doh! Sorry about that. it’s only two days worth, but up close, it’s a bit more defined. LOL at the ad choices… it’s going between the vampire fangs and some guy flossing.
Lol. I love the photos from this post. That photo of your mouth is so detailed… it just makes me laugh! 🙂 I don’t mind the dentist so much, but I have a hard time not gagging when I have my mouth open for so long. It’s just uncomfortable!
kilax – I gag as well at the dentist. In all honesty, I have a good dentist, so it’s not his fault for my distaste for any visit. Uncomfortable is the best way to put how I feel.
My friend has a motorcycle… Says it’s the most expensive girlfriend he’s ever had. He goes for regular rides on it like, every day. And chain smokes cigarettes like crazy. Dunno if he plays golf though… xD
Good luck with the dentist [for next time]. Eugh.
motley – so far, my scooter has been pretty cheap. 100 mpg and fun to ride. I would imagine a motorcycle would be more expensive, given all of the add-ons (including girlfriend) you would put into it.
Thanks. Hopefully my next visit won’t be as long or uncomfortable.
I wouldn’t mind rain about every 3rd or 4th day to keep the temp down….
whall – I agree. Every 3rd or 4th day, from 12 midnight to 6am, I would be ok with it. Not only would it help keep things cool, it would also rain when most people are sleeping and can go about their day (read: ride their scooter to work) without getting wet.
That is some wicked stubble. Nice detail.
brandon – Yeah, I can’t shave every day. Once every 4-5 days at the most often. I normally let it go for 7 days, sometimes 10 if I don’t have to impress anyone.
Woah. Now I can tell people I know you intimately… I’ve seen your hair follicles. Heh. The more I see your scooter, the more I jealous I get even though I would never plant my big butt on one. It’s just so cool.
winter – To know me, is to see my follicles.
A couple of months back I went to the dentist for the first time in well over 10 years. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I figured he’d have a lot to scold me for and I didn’t want to hear it. Turns out it was all good but ended up with 4 fillings. Which is actually better than I expected for not having gone for that long.
kevin – Wow. That’s not bad for missing 10 years. Most of what I’m having done now is replacing what I had done when I was a teen. Amazing that some of this stuff lasts almost 30 years.
We are getting crazy amounts of rain here too. I like rain but this is getting ridiculous!
I don’t mind the dentist but I also haven’t really ever had anything bad done (a few fillings and that is it) so I guess I would feel differently if I had.
tori – A few fillings is not bad at all. I’ve got 5 more teeth to either re-fill or put a crown on. Then I’ll be done for another 15 years (i hope)
Is that gingivitis? 😉
kapgar – Dammit! I know I forgot to Photoshop something out of that photo. 😉
