Let’s get this up front here as a full disclosure. I am no fan of Ted Cruz. The possibility that this person could be our next President scares the living fuck out of me. And that’s not because I’m an atheist. No… no.. it’s much larger than that. It’s because everything about him is focused on him: his religious beliefs, his push to do whatever it takes, including purporting the truth to match his presentation of it to his supporters, to ensure that he’s elected the 45th President of the United States of America, taking the position of always being right, never admitting he’s wrong [I’ve yet to find an example, so feel free Teddies [what I label Ted Cruz supporters], post a link in the comments], using his family as political props but slamming anyone for calling him out for it and the list goes on.
Fear Monger
In the above video, Ted uses his adjusted position and logic to make the case to keep Obama from doing something the Constitution allows, to keep from putting in a liberal Supreme Court justice to replace the recently departed Antonin Scalia. This from someone who loves and supports the Constitution. Injecting the fears that religious symbols will be “sandblasted” from veteran memorials and tombstones, religious liberty becomes abolished and many other outright fears to push his agenda. Ted has one agenda: that Christianity be the sole religion and religious way of life for all Americans, regardless of their current beliefs or lack thereof. And he’s not afraid to hide from that fact. Want proof?
Conversion Is Best
Justin Scott, a conservative atheist, went to a Ted Cruz rally and asked the Texas Senator, why an atheist should vote for him. Ted’s response talks up the freedom to believe as you please. But at 21 seconds into the above video, Ted pushes his true intent:
Listen, I’ll tell you, as a believer, I hope that one day you come to be a believer. But it is your right, it is your prerogative with freewill, to make your own decisions.
To those that argue that point, where Ted tells him to make his own decisions, sure, he does have that freewill and right. Religious belief and belonging to an organized religion is a protected choice in this country. But Ted didn’t have to inject his push to join his belief system. Unless he really hopes that anyone who isn’t already a Christian, should become one. When I was Mormon, the push and belief was for everyone to become Mormon. So this position of Ted’s makes total sense for someone invested deeply in their beliefs as he is.
Does this mean Ted wants to shut down all other beliefs and religions? No, I would never suggest that. But will his choice of religion become a major focal point in a Cruz presidency over and above other people’s beliefs and their choice of religion? You’d better believe it will. The preferential treatment Christians will get in making laws, in extending positions in a Cruz cabinet, in deciding who sits on the Supreme Court, who gets the attention in the public, it all comes down to being Christian or not. He’s made no attempts to hide that in his campaign.
But the naysayers who talk about his support for Israel, would counter that preferential religious assertion. I will admit that I am no expert in knowing current relations with Israel and I don’t pretend to want to take away from anyone’s support for wanting peace in that entire region. The world would be a better place with less violence. So I’m sure some of you are saying “then shut the fuck up, Marty” But the question should be presented: is it possible for someone like Ted Cruz to put aside his extreme religious position and give the support to others, without wanting to convert them to his belief system? It’s already the position of other GOP candidates like John Kasich who has recently stated:
…beam messages around the world about the freedoms Americans enjoy! It means freedom, it means opportunity, it means respect for women, it means freedom to gather, it means so many things.
Seriously, a US government agency to push Christian values to parts of the world that don’t practice any type of Christianity today. I doubt Ted would be against this type of government expansion.
Going back to Cruz and his position on those without any religious belief, he made the following statement:
Any president who doesn’t begin every day on his knees isn’t fit to be commander in chief of this nation.
Tell me again why someone who’s atheist would vote for Ted Cruz? Even Justin Scott should question throwing his support to someone that has a feigned interest in him.
Like Father, Like Son
First, let me get this out of the way. I got suckered by a satire news site that had Rafael Cruz – Ted’s father – saying he wanted to put atheists into camps. This is not true and I got called out on it over on Twitter. Even though the elder Cruz never hides his distaste for atheists, he never suggested to round us up and put us in camps.
So now that I don’t have that worry, we still have statements by Papa Cruz that atheists have no morals, suggesting “if there is no God, then we are ruled by our instincts.” And just what are those instincts?:
Of course, this leads us, when there are no moral absolutes, leads us to sexual immorality, leads us to sexual abuse, leads us to perversion and, of course, no hope. No hope!
Abuse and perversion of the sexual kind. Yeah, that’s me alright. No morals at all. What the fuck is this religious loon talking about? Atheists have no morals and just fuck who they want? Perhaps he is confusing us non-believers with Catholic priests, who obviously forsake morals for their own carnal desires, covered up for years.
Continuing on in his quest to demonize those he hates, his prediction of utter destruction for America if Obama is allowed to pick the next Supreme Court justice is loaded with nonsense. Unless, of course, we all live by the Christian way of life, including biblical principals. So stoning your child for disobeying makes a return. As does taking the life of your first born when God tells you to kill him. [God did change his mind and said it was a test, sparing Isaac’s life at the last minute]. I can’t wait remove shellfish from my diet. And these poly blend pants – they are just too itchy, anyway.
This Cruz character needs to find himself a new hobby.
Standing Up To Obama

On the subject of immigrants, of which Ted’s father is one, Ted wants to pick a fight with Obama on the position of Syrian refugees coming into this country to take up refuge and safety. Obama attacked Republicans on their opposition to the Syrian refugees taking up residence here in the USA. Ted then takes it to a after school fight in the parking lot:
Mr. President, if you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries. But I would encourage you Mr. President, come back and insult me to my face.
Them’s fighting words, Obama! Ted will meet you under the bleachers at 3:30pm and will tell you how it is. Wait, Ted actually wants to meet the person he loathes at extreme levels? Since he probably believes Obama is Muslim, he wants to convert him. Ahh, I get it. See, it all comes around full circle.
No More Ted
I know many Ted Cruz supporters. I don’t know a single one of them who isn’t highly religious or isn’t deeply conservative. Or takes on extreme positions of wanting America to return to the biblical days of yore. Or who thinks Obama hasn’t done a single thing right in his almost 2 terms in office. Yes, I know many Ted Cruz supporters who subscribe to some or all of the above positions.
Think my words are nonsense here? Then by all means, I encourage you to do your own unbiased research. That means no The Blaze. No Newsmax.com. No Breitbart. No Limbaugh or Hannity or Glenn Beck. Also, no Mother Jones, no Daily Kos, no Huffington Post or any of them sites promoting the “evil liberal agenda”.
If after doing your research, you come to the conclusion that Ted Cruz is the right person to lead this country, then I hope you are Christian and consult the Bible as a guide to living life in the 21st Century. Cause that’s how it’s all going to be if he gets elected.
For me and anyone else like me [a moral human being who cares about others and wants logic, reason and kindness to rule daily life], I hope that doesn’t happen.
