On sidewalk and sand
On October 31, 2023, I made it to 100 consecutive days of walking.
I started this goal to help my mental health. I read in multiple articles that some form of daily exercise helps balance out mental health issues and puts a positive focus on the time you spend doing exercise. Since I don’t have a gym membership and I had a place to go walking, I figured it was a good thing to do. I walked around the neighborhood where I live and found a consistent path.
The Positive
I felt a sense of accomplishment by completing this goal. It was 30 minutes a day and most of those 100 days I walked a distance of 1.6 miles. There were some days when I had to break up the walk into multiple sessions due to other time commitments or where I was at the time. For example, towards the end of the 100 days, I was on vacation in Cabo San Lucas. So my walks would be on the beach or walking to the corner store down the road from the resort.
The brand of shoes I am wearing on the left are Kizik. They are very comfortable to wear and are easy to slip on and off.
Why Only 100 Days
My next post will go into the very reason why I stopped at 100 days – umbilical hernia surgery, which happened on Nov 1, 2023.
