  • News – Story 1: Baltimore brings charges against cops for treatment against Freddie Gray
  • – six police officers were indicted on negligence of failing to care for Freddie Gray, who died on April 19th, after a week of being in police custody; he wasn’t properly situated and restrained while being transported after his arrest, which was based on the fact that he fled a scene with no probable cause for being arrested; his death was related to spinal cord injuries after being dragged and tossed about, thrown into a police van and police ignoring his pleas of pain and injury; the state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby held a press conference announcing the charges, but did not take questions; people that are supporting these officers are shocked and dismayed; yet those who question their abuse of power are wanting answers why police are able to bring down this kind of treatment for a non-violent arrest; again, this is happening way too often and it needs to stop; at least in this case, there was no time wasted over the charges; riots and protests took a huge toll on Baltimore and there was a lot of concern of it turning into a Ferguson, MO; the officers in this case will have their day in court in July.

  • News – Story 2: Tesla announces Powerwall, a battery power unit for homes
  • – the electric car company has ventured past the driveway, but not too far as this Powerwall battery installs in the garage; for an installed cost of $7,000, which includes the actual cost of $3500 for the battery, installation and the inverter that connects the battery to the power grid of the home; SolarCity is the vendor to help with the install; there is a much grander option to go completely off the grid and combine the Powerwall with solar panels; the cost for that approaches $100k; this is a great thing, especially if you live in an area that has frequent power outages; and it’s a much cleaner and greener option for those that don’t want to install a gas-powered generator; Elon Musk is on a quest to help use renewable energy in all aspects of powering our lives; while that might take a good number of years still, he’s making a good start with his cars and now home power.

  • RANT: The GOP clown car/van is getting full
  • – Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul, Carly and many others are cramming themselves and their loony idea they might just be president come January 20, 2017 into this thing my friend calls a clown van; the rest of the media calls it a clown car; how many of these wanna be world leaders have any sort of logical solutions on how to run a country; i’m not sure, but I can guarantee that most don’t care about the 325 million they will represent if elected; all but one will be gone come primary season a year from now; and whoever remains will end up spending more money than they should to vie for the office of US President; I can’t think of anything more idiotic than a bunch of people competing for something they don’t really want, except for the prominence it brings them personally; the collective US population gives a sigh of “oh well”

  • SHAMELESS PLUG: I really do like spending time In Cabo San Lucas
  • – this was my second time in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Mexico; the first time was in May 2013; it was a free week we had at the Wyndham resort with is right on the marina; we ended up buying timeshare at the Playa Grande, which is where we stayed this time; first visit, I went zip lining and was scared shitless; this time, I went again and was much less nervous; enjoyed drinking in all sorts of places, including on a boat that took us to go snorkeling; time on the beach, time in the sun, time at the pool; I would love to go back more often, but it’s a time/money thing; until I head back again, I will be enjoying the memories of my time in Cabo.
