No New Video Next Week

WHAT??? NO NEW VIDEO?? YOU LAZY FUCKER!!

Seriously, go easy on me. I know you all like the videos, but I’m taking the weekend off and going to southern Utah [specifically, Bryce Canyon]. There will be a Scooter Sunday post and it will contain videos, just not a new one from me. Weather permitting, I’ll be back with an all-new episode in two weeks.

I AM A SCOOTER SUNDAY FAN!!! What will I do next week though? Just PROMISE me there will be a video in two weeks 😉

106 mpg. That is so amazing! Nothing compares to the scooter 🙂

  • Nilsa

See, now that’s not fair. You feed and feed and feed our addiction and then you pull it away cold turkey. Not cool. The least you could do is give us a Scooterless Sunday video. You know, not the real thing, but enough to tide us over one more week.

I just LOVE your scooter videos! The commentary text cracks me up almost as much as the driving-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-road! I won’t ever get used to that ;o)

kilax – I promise there will be a new one. Can’t let my fans down.

nilsa – Yeah, I’m cruel like that… 😉 I think you’ll like what I’m doing for next week’s post. Then in two weeks, another new video.

penelope – I try to have fun with the commentary, plus filming multiple rides until I see footage that I can actually do something with. And driving on the wrong side of the road… I need to film myself on a scooter in England someday just to even things out.

Tell you what, I’ll put together a video that is even better than scooter sunday for you…. You can call it Fixed Gear Sunday… (I know you like the way that just rolls off the tongue… )

BTW I got my mount built I am just waiting now for all the Elk Hunting videos to transfer off to my hard drive so I have room for Fixed Gear Sunday!!!! (see sounds good huh?)

So initial tests on the bike are not so great… there is a lot of vibration from the road…. I just put some inner tube in between, that may help… but I think shocks are a benefit here…. LOL…. (And wider tires with more air, rather than thin rock hard racing tires….) Maybe I will try moving it over to my mountain bike if the inner tube doesn’t absorb some of the shock…

I, like Kilax, am a Scooter Sunday junkie! Where are the T-shirts???

Nice choice of music, BTW. Love me some Tears for Fears especially since this song was so prominently featured in one of my all-time favorite movies, Real Genius.

Your commentary during the ride was hilarious. Just an FYI.

kris – As you said on the phone, the road bike doesn’t have the shock for the larger HF10. I’ll be curious to see how well the mountain bike works, with any rides that you film. As for putting together a video, by all means, I’ll post in this next sunday. Fixed Gear Sunday can hang out for the day.

kapgar – T-Shirts??? Great idea. I’ll have to add it to my list of plans for this site (which actually does include apparel). I can’t match what Dave2 has done over at Blogography, but I’ll see what I can cook up in the next few months here.

I’ve always loved that song and have wanted to pair it up with a driving or riding video. It worked better than I thought it would. And thanks for the props on the commentary. It’s fun coming up with all of it.

kevin – It’s really the song that helps inspire each episode. There’s some songs I want to use, but trying it out with some of the footage doesn’t work. And thanks for the props on the commentary.

I love that song! This is my favorite video so far (even tho the AC/DC one was great too). I echo the t-shirt sentiment. You just need a photo of the scooter, wipe the background, slap on “I’m a Scooter Sunday Fan!”, type in the URL… Voila! Cafepress or Zazzle or whoever does all the rest of the work.

  • martymankins Post author

winter – I have been working on various logos, including one for Scooter Sunday. The t-shirt idea from you and kagar is one I want to do. Thanks for the zazzle and cafepress suggestions. I will have to check them out to see how to make this work.

  • radioactive tori

This one cracked me up like crazy! I loved it! I can’t believe you are going to skip a week. Oh well, I suppose you are entitled to live your life in addition to making us cool videos.

  • martymankins Post author

tori – Thanks. Glad you liked it. And I think you and everyone else will like what I have for this next week. Then it will be back to weekly episodes until the snow hits.

And yes, life has to be lived.

  • Gwen

Hey Marty-man. Surprise!!! Cool video. I haven’t talked to you in forever but found this during our scooter search (: It’s good to see ya, I miss you, Man.

    love ya Gwen T.

Seriously thinking about it. This triple digit weather is killing me though and Nee hates helmets so I may wait a little longer. do you still have my email addy? or give me yours. it’s been fun catching up on you through your blog.

  • martymankins Post author

gwen – I got your email from your comment post. I just sent you email. As for the scooter, a helmet is very important, especially with Nee. And hot weather isn’t the best for a non-air conditioned vehicle, but it sure can save on the gas costs.
