Listed in my blog roll are the blogs I read and visit on a regular basis. Blogography.com is one of them. In fact, it’s one of the first I started reading [for well over 3 years now] when I discovered all of the blogging goodness that was out there. I mean, who doesn’t love Little Dave and Bad Monkey.

The First Meetup

Back in April, Dave came to Salt Lake City for a visit, where my wife [then fiance] and I met up with him at the Rio Grande Cafe. At the time, Dave was all hopped on pain killers, even though that didn’t affect his ability to share stories and make us laugh.

When I heard he was coming back into town recently, I thought of all the other blogger events that have recently happened: Davecago, Dave Diego… and the hoards of people walking around with buttons and lanyards. At that point, I had to admit it. I had lanyard envy. I wanted to live in a city with tons of bloggers where a meetup was like a house party, walking around with their names hung around their necks.

So when Dave walked into the Hard Rock Cafe last night, what did he have with him?

OMG!! LANYARDS! OMG!! BUTTONS!

Elated as can be, I proudly put on the lanyard. Unfortunately, my wife wasn’t able to attend. But Dave did not disappoint. As you can see above, he had brought her a lanyard as well. [she says "That was very nice of Dave to do that"]

 
Small, But Cool

So even though there was only two of us, Dave Lake City 2 was a blast. We had dinner, drinks and even dessert. [sorry, no pics of the sorbet and ice cream sundae we consumed]

When we last left off, we had just survived the snooty bitches at the airport and were on the plane, ready to start our wedding weekend.

Cabo Wabo

Once our plane landed in Reno, we got our rental car mini-van [only $250 more to upgrade from an SUV], ate some lunch and drove the hour to South Lake Tahoe, it was time to have some fun. A few of us in the wedding party decided that the best way to forget the start of the days events was to throw back a few at the Cabo Wabo Cantina. And we did. Drink that is.

Leading up to the Main Event

After waking up to some serious hair of the dog, the girls went to get massages and then later to get their hair and makeup done.

“This smile will be permanent by the end of the night”
 
Get Me To The Beach On Time

We had picked out a nice little cove right on the lake, where the sand was smooth and the privacy was almost guaranteed. The weather was perfect, just a few clouds in the sky. It was time.

Wedding Dinner

After the ceremony, we walked the ten minutes back to The Fresh Ketch for our wedding dinner, which was our treat to everyone that had traveled the distance to be at our wedding.

Let Them Eat Cake

And what’s a wedding without wedding cake. All of us headed back to the house we rented for the weekend for some after wedding/after dinner celebrating. My sister even brought up some great chocolate candies that were custom made… just for us.

Smooth

We couldn’t have asked for a great ceremony and evening. It all went off so well. Guess Karma does have it’s place for all of us.

Last weekend was spent in the cold. I was out of town (Lake Tahoe), but it was still cold.

On Saturday, I wanted to get the scooter out and get it ready for me to start riding to work most days. And I did, ignoring the cold, bundling up in a coat, gloves and a helmet. Took it for a ride down the road for FREE AIR (most places charge at least a quarter now) and to help the battery charge level. I’m hoping in the next couple of weeks, I can get be a regular on the roads.

A Visit From Dave – It’s not too often I get to meet fellow bloggers, but when given the opportunity, I always try to make it happen.

Dave from Blogography was in town and my fiance and I were able to meet up with him at Rio Grande Cafe (the old train station). Even in his pain-killer induced state, he was his humorous and witty self. And it gave both of us the chance to have a picture of ChillyWilly posted online.

So as another weekend ends, it’s one more weekend closer to warmer days in Utah. Which I look forward to each and every day.
