lisa – Star Trek blew me away. Such an awesome film. Found someone with The Hangover and will be watching it soon.

kevin – Thank you. I thought it would be nice for both my albums and movies to include ones that I partially liked, but that took a wrong turn somewhere. Up is different enough from the other Pixar films that it does require some concentration, but the gags in the film are worth another viewing.

I loved the format of this review, the ‘What Should Have Been’ especially. Couldn’t agree more about The Soloist – such a good movie. Wasn’t overly impressed with Up! though. I think it’s probably because the little one didn’t want to sit through it in the theater so we were quite distracted. Maybe a re-watch on DVD would help. Oh, and you must watch The Hangover. It’s really good.

I need to see the Hangover because it shows up on everyone’s list this year. We didn’t see a lot of movies this year, but I think Star Trek was my favorite.

dave2 – Yes, they were all three incredible films.

kapgar – One of the people I follow on Twitter – Jason Calacanis – was in the movie, as he was an early pioneer of the web. The film and director were here in Park City recently to show the movie (and a free screening to boot) so I went and really, really liked it.

Another echo for the odd ending of The Men Who State At Goats. My wife liked it more than I did.

I’ve never heard of We Live in Public. I may have to check that out. I agree with you on The Men Who Stare at Goats. I loved the concept and I even loved a majority of the film itself, but the ending was so terrible and slapdash that it ruined any chance of the film making my list either.

kilax – That’s one of the cheesy lines I was eluding to above. And as you said, for the last words in the movie. It was the effects and John Cusack that sold me.

I didn’t see District 9. Sounds like I need to add that on my must see list.

Come on, "No more pull-ups"? Was that not the cheesiest line in a movie EVER? Especially for the ending!!! I'll admit, I saw 2012 in the theater too. And I even used my well-earned gift card to see it! Because we are on a limited budget this year, we did not see a much, but most of the things on your list are in my Netflix Queue. I still need to see The Hangover too. Zombieland and District 9 are on my top movies list. I am surprised to not see District 9 anywhere on your lists!
