Snowy Sunday #16
|Finally, a new episode of Snowy Sunday, even if it is the next to last episode of this season.
Snowy Sunday Ep. 016 from Marty Mankins on Vimeo.
To YouTube or not…
I’ve just about given up on YouTube for my weekly videos. Not that I don’t want to provide another option in addition to the wonderful Vimeo quality videos. I know those that watch via their iPhones appreciate the YouTube version. But I’m pretty tired of wondering if the audio in my video is going to get cut or not. Granted, this week’s video uses a track from Alice In Chains, which is a Sony artist. And I think it’s been safe before. But it really is a crap shoot for the types of videos I create.
UPDATE: And we have success. A YouTube uploaded version of Snowy Sunday [which I didn’t have to alter]

The End of Snowy Sunday
Next week is the last episode of Snowy Sunday for the season. It’s going to be a compilation episode, looking back on all of the snow [and lack of snow] I filmed during the long winter.
I also will not miss the snow-covered car! I have one today. WAH WAH WAH!!!
Since we ended up taking a cruise for spring break (our first non-skiing spring break since 2003 (and that year we took a trip to Germany during which we drove to Austria and walked on a ski slope), I miss snow more than usual. I think we might have had one brief snow flurry here in Austin, but certainly not enough to stick (though we very occasionally do get enough).
I’m looking forward to the Snowy Sunday compilation video. And, of course, the imminent return of Scooter Sunday!
I am going to miss Snowy Sundays!! (Not the actual snow, mind you, but your awesome videos!)
Excellent choice in music, as always.
🙂
kilax – As you could see, my car sticks out of the carport, so most snowy days, there’s a good 10 min layer of snow on it. I saw Kapgar’s photo of the snow today there. You got a lot, that’s for sure.
ren – Snow flurries don’t count unless it sticks. Especially if you are a skier. The compilation should be good and who isn’t looking forward to Scooter Sundays? I know I’m happy.
sybil law – Why thank you. And YouTube liked my choice of song this week, too.
*sniff* Gee, that was a little sad… I’m looking forward to the compilation next week, hopefully we’ll get to see the snowman again! Poor little guy. Once again, perfect song choice. And as a person who really misses the snow, it’s nice to live vicariously through you there – I could almost smell snowy air looking at the porch. Thanks for another great vid 🙂
I’m shivering just from watching that! I know you won’t miss your snow but I will miss Snowy Sundays!!
I say just screw YouTube. Why worry? It’s a headache.
I can’t even fathom being tired of snow! I suppose the saying is true though, “anything in moderation”.
Nice music!
catherine – Oh, I plan to end the first season of Snowy Sunday with a bang. And I thought you would like the AiC song. It fit very well for this episode.
penelope – Snowy Sundays (the video, not the weather) will be missed.
kapgar – Yeah, I’m ready to drop YouTube for these videos. Vimeo is so much better. Maybe I should see if Vimeo will eventually support the iPhone.
beth – I wouldn’t tire of snow if there would not be a few nice days of 60+ degrees then a drop to under 35 for a week.
Ummm I hate to be the one to bring this up but have you looked at the forecast? Snow today through Wednesday and again on Friday…. Yipeee!!! (It should be gone by next Sunday though)
I will have to say though I am certainly glad I don’t have to go out and clean snow off my car anymore…. ;o)
breakaway9 – Yeah, I saw the forecast. Hoping it really will be gone by Sunday.
It helps that you don’t have a car anymore. 😉
Well mate, I for one have enjoyed every single one of your Snowy Sunday videos. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in future 😉
Man I haven’t heard that song in forever – great pick! And yes, I already know I don’t know what I’m talking about when I say I envy the snow.
kevin – Why thank you, sir. And I won’t disappoint for future videos.
whall – Thank you. It’s a great song. You envy snow because Austin doesn’t get much of it.
snow snow snow!! I love snow!! When it’s in cities where I am not located. 🙂
Great video – and I love Vimeo!! Down with youtube-boo!! Hiss!!!
kaylen – Ha! that’s funny. Thanks for the props on the video. And adding another vote to ditch YouTube for these videos.
