gina I’ve heard the Ani DiFranco album before… it is very good. I would love to see your list… I’ve got a head start, as I know at least three of the albums that will be on it.

I would switch out Abbey Road for Revolver and Pretty Hate Machine for The Fragile. I would have to add in Living In Clip by Ani DiFranco too, incidentally.

Much of your list otherwise I would probably agree with – I need to come up with my own list I guess.

(btw: I commented to everyone on the Avitable guest post on my blog – just got back from Cozumel yesterday so…)

adena why thank you very much. Love.. love DM. I think more than Dave2 does… well, that’s a stretch I’m sure, since his top 5 albums are all DM. I take it you’ve seen them live before. New album comes out this November. Can’t wait… counting the days.

whall sorry wayne.. thought I responded to this earlier. I think I’ve heard that YES album. Not sure if you are fan of any of the side project, but ASIA is back together this year and on tour. Loved them. It’s not YES, but their sound was very polished.

Amen on Hemispheres. There are so many to choose from, like Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, Moody Blues, and of course YES. I’d probably say YES Tales of Topographic Oceans is my top. A double album with only four songs – yup, one song per album side. An acquired taste, to be sure.

breakaway you are right, a Top 50 would be a better list. You really can’t have just 9. Too many good ones, like the ones you listed above get left out.

Of the ones you listed above, the following are in my top 25:
Alice in Chains – Unplugged
U2- Joshua Tree
Prince – Purple Rain
Led Zeppelin – Houses of the Holy
The Eagles – Hotel California
Fleetwood Mac – Rumours
Sex Pistols – Nevermind the Bullocks

Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon was replaced at the last minute by Stone Temple Pilots – Purple. Went back and forth with those two for a while.
